Job Description Wisconsin Metal Tech, Inc. located in Richfield, WI is is a privately-owned, family-oriented custom machining company that develops and manufactures high precision, critical-to-function components. The company is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that will include both organic and acquisition growth. Our CNC Set Up Operators play an important role in the execution of this strategy.
Job requirements:
Perform CNC Set up Operations: Conduct all set-up and quality operations in support of machining for self and others. Set ups are complex. Only those who are highly experienced in complex set ups should apply.
Set-up and Operate machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.).
Create, edit and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.
Use company documentation (Blueprints, Set-Up Sheets, Control Plans, etc.) to: manufacture product that meets quality requirements.
Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection. If non-conforming, process via non-conforming material procedures.
Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. Advise supervision of issues that arise.
A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture.
Correctly process work via required procedures and process control system. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Perform non-CNC tasks when necessary: non-CNC equipment operation, hand-work operations, inspections, saw-cut operations, etc.
Able to do offset, compensations, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations and clean work environment.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Skills and Experience:
5+ years’ experience CNC machining and set-up. Only those who are highly experienced in complex set ups should apply.
Ability to read & understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation.
Ability to use various inspection gages.
Firm understanding of G-code CNC programs including formatting and editing.
Experience in use of Hass type CNC equipment a plus. Ability to learn new techniques and be cross-trained in other roles
High school diploma or GED
Fork-lift certification a plus
Experience with Hass and Swiss machines preferred
